Your first guitar: what a set-up changes
Why a guitar that has been set up by hand is easier to learn on.
A guitar that fights your fingers is the quickest way to stop practising. A set-up fixes the things that make a guitar hard to play before you ever notice them.
What we adjust
We lower the action so the strings sit close to the neck, set the intonation so chords sound in tune up the neck, dress the fret ends so they do not catch your hand, and fit fresh strings.
Ask your teacher
Your teacher can say which guitar suits your song, and you can try it in the store before you decide.
